Tengol/Tinglodu




Ingredients


1.5 Cups of Rice flour

1/2 cup Maida

4 tsp Butter

1 tsp Jeera ( Or crushed Jeera)

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp Sesame seeds (Black Or White)

Salt to taste




Procedure


  • Put rice flour, maida, salt, jeera, Chilli powder and sesame seeds in a bowl.

  • Mix well. Add butter and mix well so that all the ingredients and combined well.

  • Now add water and make a soft dough. Keep aside for 10 minutes.

  • Heat oil. Now take the tengol mould and fix it to the chakli maker.

  • Grease the chakli maker with little oil to prevent the dough from sticking to the mould.

  • Make a cylindrical shape out of the dough and place it inside the chakli maker.

  • Tighten the lid and start making tengol/ murukku on a plastic sheet or paper.

  • Once the oil is hot slowly slide the prepared tengol into the hot oil. Fry on a medium flame.

  • Flip the murukku and fry on medium flame till they turn crispy from both sides

  • Furthermore, drain over a paper towel to remove excess oil

  • Serve hot tengol with chai or coffee. Store the tengol in an airtight container once it comes to room temperature.
