
Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
6 tsp oil or ghee
2 slit green chillies
1 big onion sliced
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp red chilli pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
1 tsp pav bhaji masala pdr
2 tsp tomato ketchup
2 finely chopped tomatoes
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves
Procedure
Wash basmati rice and soak in water for 30 mins
In cooker put oil/ghee, saute green chillies and sliced onions, until they turn light brown in colour
Add chopped tomatoes and fry till they turn mushy
Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 mins, followed by all the spice powders
Saute for a second, drain water from the rice and add the rice to the tomato-onion mixture
Add salt, ketchup and fry for 5 mins
add 1.5 cups water and close the lid of the cooker and cook for 2 whistles
Turn off the flame, open the lid once the steam is released
Gently mix the rice, garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Serve hot with any raita.
