Urad dal and Wheat Flour Dosa

This is a very simple and easy dosa recipe. Just grind urad dal and add wheat flour to it and make thin dosas. And this is also good for diabetic people.

Ingredients

1 cup urad dal

1 cup wheat flour

2 tbsp fine Rava (optional)

Salt to taste

Oil or ghee for cooking dosa

Procedure

  • Wash well and soak dal in water for 4-5 hours. Drain water completely, grind it into a smooth paste, adding little water.

  • Pour into a vessel. In another vessel take wheat flour. Add water while whisking it to remove lumps, bringing it to a slightly thick smooth batter.

  • Keep the batters to ferment separately at room temperature overnight or for 8 hours.

  • After fermentation, the wheat flour batter leaves water on the surface. Discard the water.

  • Now mix the wheat flour batter with the urad dal batter. Add fine Rava.

  • Now heat a dosa pan and add a ladle of dosa batter onto the pan. Spread as thin as you can. Add ghee and allow it to cook. The below dosa is crispy. If you like it soft, remove it when it browns only slightly.

  • Serve hot dosa with coconut chutney or sambar.
