White Sauce Pasta

Pasta is a staple food of Italian cuisine. Pasta is divided into two broad categories dried (pasta secca) and fresh (pasta Fresca) Pasta dishes are generally simple, but individual dishes vary in preparation.





Ingredients

1 cup pasta

2tblsp butter

1 tblsp maida

1 1/4 cup boiled and cooled milk

5 finely chopped garlic cloves

1/2 cup finely chopped red and green capsicum

1/4 cup corn kernels

1/2 tsp red chilli flakes

1/2 tsp crushed pepper

1 tsp oregano

3 tblsp grated cheese

Salt to taste




Procedure

  • Boil 3-4 cups water in a vessel, add pasta, a little salt and 1 tsp oil and cook till pasta is cooked

  • Once the pasta is cooked drain the water and keep it aside

  • In a pan heat 1 tsp butter and saute garlic chopped for 2 mins

  • Add the chopped capsicum and sweet corn kernels, little salt and saute for a while and remove it on a plate

  • In the same pan put the remaining butter, add maida and saute for 2 mins, add the milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps

  • While the mixture starts thickening add the chilli flakes, crushed pepper and oregano, mix well

  • Now add the grated cheese into the thick mixture and mix

  • Add the sauteed veggies, boiled pasta and toss well

  • Check for seasoning and serve hot.
